Michael Olalekan Odunlami is the Managing Partner of Claybrook Attorneys, Lagos, where he provides strategic leadership across the firm’s litigation, advisory, and corporate practice. He oversees the delivery of high-value, client-focused legal solutions in personal injury, medical negligence, property, divorce/family law, commercial law, and corporate advisory, positioning the firm as a trusted and results-driven legal partner for individuals, corporations, and institutions.
He began his legal career at Idowu Sofola SAN & Co, developing deep expertise in advocacy, litigation strategy, and complex case management.
Michael also serves as an Associate Partner at Barking & Brighton Law Firm, Dagenham, United Kingdom, advising on immigration and commercial matters for international clients. Before qualifying as a lawyer, he practised as a mental health professional in the United Kingdom, gaining experience in forensic psychiatry, substance abuse management, and cognitive behavioural therapy, which enhances his approach to personal injury and medical negligence claims.
Michael earned his LLB in the United Kingdom and subsequently obtained his LL.M. from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom. He also holds a degree in Mental Health from Thames Valley University, United Kingdom, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, a Diploma in Information Technology from Westminster College, United Kingdom, and a Barrister at Law (B.L.) from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, Nigeria.
In addition to his legal practice, he is a respected legal columnist with The Eagle Online and TheCable newspapers, writing on personal injury claims, medical negligence, workplace injury claims, and access to justice in personal injury cases. His articles, including “Personal injury claims: How to get justice when children get hurt,” “Birth injuries and medical malpractice in personal injury claims,” workplace injuries, and “The role of a lawyer in personal injury claims,” reflect his commitment to public legal education and thought leadership.
Michael Odunlami is recognised for his strategic vision, multidisciplinary expertise, analytical depth, and client-focused approach, guiding Claybrook Attorneys while mentoring young lawyers and shaping the legal landscape in Nigeria. He is fluent in German (Deutsch) as a second language.
